Not at all! While traditionally partner dancing, our classes welcome solo dancers. We rotate partners throughout sessions so everyone gets equal practice time. Many adult students come alone and love meeting other dancers. If you do bring a partner, you're welcome to dance together – we accommodate both couples and singles.

Standard (also called Modern) includes Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Quickstep – elegant dances with maintained contact. Latin includes Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, and Jive – more rhythmic with varied hold positions. Our classes teach both styles, giving you a complete education in partner dancing. Beginners typically start with Waltz or Cha Cha before progressing to other dances.

You'll learn basic steps in your first few classes! However, partner dancing is a journey – there's always more to learn. Most adult students feel comfortable social dancing after 2-3 months of regular attendance. For wedding couples preparing a first dance, 4-6 private lessons typically suffice. Our beginner sessions progress at a comfortable pace, building skills gradually while keeping classes fun and engaging for all levels.

Yes! While our main focus is adult classes for ages 17+, we also offer children's ballroom classes Leeds for younger dancers.
